10 Questions with EO’s Nicole Donnelly

There are no two entrepreneurs alike! Take a look at these ingenious 10 questions that reveal the person behind the business. The first to shed their entrepreneurial mask for you is EO Vancouver member Nicole Donnelly, the CEO of Salty Waffle, a social media company.

  1. What is the first question you think someone should ask themselves before pursuing entrepreneurship?
Why think about it? Just do it.
  2. What past or present leader would you want as a partner in your business? Why?
I’d want to work with Oprah. She’s generous, driven, and hard working. She emotionally connects with her audience and I respect that. She cares.
  3. What is the strangest business idea you’ve ever heard?
    Hmmmmm….
  4. What was the first eureka moment you had when starting your business?
Before really starting my business Sara had her home made BabyLegs on her legs when we went into a store, a woman just raved about how great they were and how she wanted a pair. Later I met that woman again after I sold my business, she gave me a facial and we talked about it. We both remembered that day 5 years prior.
  5. What is the ultimate goal you want your business to accomplish?
With my current business, I want it to create a 500,000 job opportunities for GenY either with us or with our clients.
  6. If you could erase one word from everyone’s vocabulary, what would it be?
    Can’t.
  7. What is your number one fear in business? Life?
Business is not scary, I won’t break my neck. It’s just work. Life, well, I’m afraid of fish and water, but I face that fear all the time by wake boarding and surfing. Fear will never stop me from experiencing life. Ever.
  8. 8. If you could be one person for a day, who would it be and why?
I’d be Obama or Tiger Woods. What a different experience from my body and life. If I say any more it’ll probably not be appropriate for print.
  9. In your opinion, who is the most influential entrepreneur in the world?
    Richard Branson or Oprah Winfrey.
  10. What’s one vice you’ll never give up?
    Chocolate and almond butter.

Nicole founded, grew and sold the internationally recognized brand of www.BabyLegs.com. She took her lessons learned from Seattle-based BabyLegs and applied them in the form of curriculum that Salty Waffle now teaches and practices.
