Years after building a successful business of her own, Megan Burton yearned to find like-minded entrepreneurs that could relate to the unique experiences of establishing a business, from bootstrapping a company to achieving unimaginable success. Megan already belonged to a number of leadership organizations when she came across Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), which turned out to be exactly what she had been searching for. Megan attributes much of her growth and success as an entrepreneur to EO. When she joined in 2012, her company, CoinX, was in high growth mode, which made support from her EO community an invaluable asset. What stood out to Megan was that EO encourages and values diverse opinions while cultivating a culture of trust that gives members the opportunity to develop in a peer-to-peer learning style with true transparency. Megan’s favorite aspect of EO is her forum, which she says has been instrumental in her growth as a leader.

Megan is a pioneer in the IT security industry and founded CoinX, a fintech company that specializes in domestic and international payment processing and transfer services (money transmission), in 2004. As the CEO and founder, Megan is known for her ability to push the envelope in security and risk management technology. Since the company’s inception, CoinX has been dedicated to the development of technologies surrounding the financial services industry for Banks, Money Service Businesses and Payment Service Providers.

As an activist to a number of national and Atlanta-based organizations and a mentor to other women entrepreneurs, Megan has received many prestigious awards and honors and has been recognized by Women in Technology, Greater Women’s Business Council, NAWBO and CRN. She is also the founder of and former chairman of YPO Atlanta and a serves as a member of the board for Barwick Bank and Authomate.
